African Liberty Writing Fellowship Scholarship 2024/2025

The African Liberty Writing Fellowship is a unique opportunity for young Africans with a passion for writing and a career interest in academia, media, public policy, or any other critical-and-analytical-writing-related career. This year-long program is designed to help young Africans hone their writing skills and get published in Africa’s top newspapers. Accepted applicants will complete a five-week mandatory online training, followed by a 12-month writing fellowship. The top candidates from the five-week training will be admitted as African Liberty writing fellows.

What Is The African Liberty Writing Fellowship?

The African Liberty Writing Fellowship is a program designed to help young Africans succeed. It involves a year-long journey of learning and growth, starting with a five-week online training from May 21, 2024, to June 18, 2024. This training is important for preparing candidates for what’s ahead. Only the best performers will move forward to become African Liberty writing fellows, starting from July 8, 2024, to July 8, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria African Liberty Writing Fellowship 2024/2025

To be eligible for the fellowship, applicants must be enrolled in, or have graduated from, an African institution of higher learning, or be an African pursuing higher education outside the continent.

Applications for the 2024/2025 cohort are open until April 30, 2024. Late submissions will not be considered.
